Register LTI1.3, Create Deployment and Deployment Links:

  1. Login to D2L  website.
  2. Navigate to Settings->Manage Extensibility.
  3. Click on the LTI Advantage tab.
  4. Select Register Tool.
  5. Choose the Standard Option.
  6. Provide the Name, Description, Domain, and Role:
  7. Click Register.
  8. Note down all the details.
  9. Click View Deployments.
  10. Click New Deployment.
  11. Check the Enabled and Auto Migrate Links buttons.
  12. Select your register LTI tool from the dropdown.
  13. Provide a Name and Description.
  14. Select User information and other required details from Security Settings.
  15. Under Security Settings, the "Link information" checkbox and its sub-checkboxes (Title and Description) need to be checked.
  16. This checkboxes pass the data for context title and context description.
  17. Click Add Org units under Make tool available to.
  18. Choose Course Template from the Filter by Org Unit Type drop down in the pop up.
  19. Search and select your course and choose This org unit and all descendants.
  20. Click Add.
  21. Click Add Org units again under Make tool available to.
  22. Choose Course Offering from the Filter by Org Unit Type drop down in the pop up.
  23. Search and select your course.
  24. Click Add.
  25. Create Deployments.
  26. Note down the deployment id.
  27. Click View Links.
  28. Click New Link.
  29. Provide a Name and Description.
  30. Add Substitution Parameter under Substitution Parameters.
  31. Give Name and Value (example: Name -emailParameter and Value-$Person.email.primary).
  32. Click Save and Close.


    The LTI tool is now registered, and the Deployment and Deployment Link have been created. Please register the issuer details on the EPCSDotNet site. Next, we need to add the tool link to the course content.
